Explore further! Find out how Cubans manage to make incredible food, despite limitations and shortages on our privately guided cookery day!
On this day tour, you will travel out of Havana to visit a family-run restaurant in the sleepy seaside suburb of Cojimar, where Hemingway used to spend time in the fishing community.
Here, you will take a tour of the kitchen gardens where many fresh ingredients are grown. Next, learn how to make traditional Cuban foods, with a cookery lesson. Expert barmen will teach you how to make an authentic Cuban mojito too! After your lesson and tour, relax and enjoy your culinary creations.
On the way home, enjoy a tour of Casablanca and El Cristo de la Habana, for stunning views of the city from a different perspective.
Don’t forget that your tour includes your own private guide, who is on hand to tell you all about the culture, history and people of Cuba throughout the day.
“I had a nice time on this tour, it was a lovely way to spend a day trip out of Havana. With door to door transportation, personal guided tour and narrative along the way, it was insightful, fun, and eye opening to learn more about the Cuban way of life. The garden/herb tour was a highlight for me and learning about Ajiaco – the traditional dish. The best part though, was learning their Cuban Mojito recipe. I’ve now had a chance to remake at home and share with some friends, all of which loved it. I’m not sharing the secret ingredient here, because you’ll have to take the tour!!Courteous guide, answered all questions, helped take photos for me, was on time, and very knowledgeable about the area.”

“The tour highlighted the culture, history, art, music and food of Cuba. We visited a wonderful organic farm, then prepared food at a restaurant and had a Mojito making class. My daughters and I traveled to Cuba to celebrate one of their birthdays. It was a once in a lifetime trip enhanced by our wonderful tour guide Danny, his lovely wife and the Cuban people.”
