Get out of the city for a day and visit rural Cuba! Meet local people and eat fantastic, fresh food in the beautiful Pinar Del Rio province. We travel by private transfer for approximately 2 ½ hours to the beautiful village of Viñales.
En route to Viñales – the distinctive shape of the drying houses starts to appear alongside the road
Situated in the heart of Cuba’s prime tobacco growing region, Viñales is where many of Cuba’s trademark cigars are made. On our day tour, we visit a working tobacco plantation and meet the family who run the farm. You’ll have a tour of the fully operating secadero (drying house) before watching a cigar rolling demonstration. Cigars can be sampled and purchased here too!
Tobacco fields surround this peaceful rural village
Next, travel through incredibly scenic countryside, between the strange mogotes, to the Cuevas del Indio (Indian Caves) and find out about the indigenous population of the island. Travel into an expansive natural hollow and take an underground boat tour.A traditional Cuban lunch is served at an authentic Cuban family-run paladar, where many of the ingredients come from the nearby kitchen garden. Finish your day with a visit to the Los Jazmines viewpoint for spectacular views of the whole valley.
